Schooled in Hong Kong and San Francisco, he's been practicing since 1987. He is co-founder of the Shen Clinic and co-founder of the popular Dr. Shen line of natural medicines, sold nationally in many natural food stores. Joel has published numerous articles including articles in the California Journal of Oriental Medicine and on acupuncture.com. He is adjunct faculty member and lecturer at AIMC, Berkeley's Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College.
